1. 6 Seconds Rules:

You have 6 seconds to impress your recruiter, so highlight your achievements and emphasize your educational impact on the front page of your CV.


2. Layout is Important:

It is not only the information you put in but the layout of your CV is also very important.Use easy to use fonts and follow a consistent layout.

3. Length of the CV:

Do not make your CV excessively long by including irrelevant details, stick to the main points.As a guide line the CV should be 2 pages maximum and in exceptional cases you can make it 3 pages. If you need to include other information you can make a separate profile of the achievements.


4. Achievements:

Mention your achievements for each past experience and clearly write how you contributed to the company. In case you do not have experience, talk about University projects you completed.

5. Adjust CV for each Job post:

There is a need to adjust your CV according to each job post you are applying for,do not misquote on your CV, recruiters will find out and you will be rejected.

6. Do not over cram:

The personal details should be mentioned at the end of the CV and a consistent style followed throughout the CV. Also remembernot to over cram your CV.

Use action Verbs in your CV, for example initiated, managed, mentored, Formulated etc.

Eliminate all spelling and grammatical mistakes. Do not rely on the computer use different authentic sources i.e. dictionary, Google search etc.and also get it proof read.

9. Photograph:

The photograph on your CV should be a head shot made with a professional camera,having blue or white background with a smiling face.

10. Print, format & email:

Use good quality paper while printing your CV and also use good envelopes forsubmittingyour CV.Use PDF format of your CV while applying online for Job posts and sending by email.
